practical information

Peter - the man behind the idea - creates most content in English. We will maintain the "home" page in Swedish, while the rest of the website will be available in English. We hope You will find it comfortable navigating Your way in this space.

The e-shop function is not available yet. You can purchase plants from us by checking out the plant list and contacting us with information on the products You are interested in.

Because we grow all our plants, the availability changes depending on the season and weather conditions.

If You in our list can't find what You are looking for, feel free to contact us -

chances are big, that we will have the plant available later in the year or the following season.

Why we started

When we decided to create our own food forest, it was quickly apparent that the right plant varieties are often  unknown in our country, or not available in great quantities.

Even fewer nurseries deliver robust and productive plants that do well without fertilizers, pesticides or irrigation.

That is why we choose to collect, test and propagate these plants ourselves: for our own use and for sales to others.

Our hope

We wish to facilitate local accessibility to high quality plant resources that benefit people’s health, biodiversity, and reduce our impact on nature.

Our hope is for more people to work with nature, to bring their existing grass lawns, trees and gardens into a more cohesive, many-layered, food producing and ecologically sustainable landscape.

Our work is rooted in a vision of restoring biodiversity by creating ecologically sustainable resilient landscapes that provide food security in the north and connecting people to the real and exciting possibility of turning their backyards into an abundant edible paradise.

What we offer

We specialize in food forest plants: perennials and woody plants with edible fruits, leaves, flowers, nuts or seeds.

In addition, we grow plants that have an important ecological function in the food forest: because they provide shelter to other plants, fix nitrogen in the soil or attract insects for pollination and pest control.

We sell what we grow from seed, cuttings or by grafting. We select the varieties we grow for cold hardiness, disease resistance, flavor, and overall variety in our diet.

Our promise

We do not add fertilizers, drip irrigation, nutrient excess, or anything similar to promote growth of our plants. All of our plants get the same care of deep mulch and organic matter, nothing more. This helps the plants toughen up and figure out meeting their own needs from early on. We are committed to growing with what nature provides.

Our plants get the weather, for better or worse, of what zone 4 Sweden wants to offer. They get hardier, get thinned if needed, and get ready for the real world in this space. We add or subtract from our offerings based on their ability to thrive in the real conditions of a northern climate.

Everything is organic or better, we use no chemicals. we are not certified, but you are encouraged to ask hard questions and come look at the nursery for yourself to see if we meet your expectations. We are happy to answer with full transparency about any of the practices we use for nursery production or anything we grow.

We avoid new plastic. Nearly all our trees and shrubs are sold as bareroot. Our potted plants are only in reused or reclaimed pots, and we always happily take them back for another run.

We care very much about this work.  Let us prove it to you with plants, ideas and support!
